Modification of IBM fluorecent displays

This is an IBM pole display intended for use with their cash registers.

Features:
	2 row, 20 character vacuum fluorescent display.
	12V power
	RS-485 communication

I was unable to communicate with the display using stock IBM firmware, so the 8051 microcontroller was replaced with an ATMEGA162, and new firmware was written. Only small hardware modifications are required.

A small interface PCB to replace the nonstandard connector / interface is in the works.
